About me
My name is Areta.
Although I grew up in contact with rural areas, I am not a farmer's daughter. I studied agronomic engineering.
The idea of raising angora goats arose 10 years ago at an agricultural fair in Bayonne. I had the opportunity to meet the angora breed and discover their wool, and they caught my attention.
Later on, little by little, I got to know the rural Basque Country. Its local dynamism, connection with the land, and the way of life that some people around me have created by becoming farmers have been an example to me.
Over the past years I have worked in both agriculture and teaching, using my holidays to visit many different farms in France and England. Raising a flock requires multiple skills: a deep understanding of animals and the environment, mechanics, accounting, management, design.
